Recipe: Healthy Hazelnut Spread

This weeks recipe is Healthy Hazelnut Spread. If you can't get enough of Nutella then this is the recipe for you. Our favourite ways to eat this yummy spread has to be on pancakes as a weekend treat. It melts perfectly and is also a great addition to the overnight oats from last weeks recipe. 

This recipe has no processed or refined sugar and actually has over 2/3 less sugar than the shop bought stuff,  making it a much healthier, dentist approved option. Best of all it only requires a few ingredients and is quick and simple to make. 

 

Ingredients: 

2 Cups of Hazelnuts (380g)

1/2 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract

1/2 Cup of Maple Syrup (125ml)

3 Tablespoons of Good Quality Cocoa Powder 

Method: 

1- Bake the hazelnuts at 180g for around 10 minutes until they are roasted. 

2- Wait for the hazelnuts to cool and blend them for 8-10 minutes until a hazelnut butter forms. 

3-Pour into bowl and stir in the maple syrup and vanilla extract.

4- Lastly add in the cocoa powder until your hazelnut spread is fully combined. 

 

*Store in an air tight container and consume within one week.
